About this 12 axes test
Updated
Who runs it
This site is run by My 12 Axes. It is independent and is not tied to any party, campaign or government. It carries no ads.
Where the test comes from
The statements, the weighting of answers and the ideology reference points come from the open-source 12axes quiz, published under the MIT license. The Brazilian Portuguese statements were translated for this site. One deliberate change: the original compares the diplomacy value of each ideology with the trade axis, which points the other way; this site compares it with the internationalism axis.
How matching works
Your ideology is the nearest reference point on four scores: economy, government, diplomacy and society. Figures and countries are compared on all twelve axes, and the match is 100 minus the typical distance per axis.
Figure and country profiles are editorial estimates on a seven-step scale. Only figures who have died and who are not remembered mainly as dictators are included, and no one standing in a current election appears.
Quotes and portraits
Each quote was checked against a Wikiquote entry that cites its source, or against a primary source, and the link is shown on your result. Where no published Portuguese translation was found, the translation is ours and marked as such. Portraits are public domain or CC0 files from Wikimedia Commons, turned greyscale; the file list is in the portrait sources.
Fonts and flags
Figtree, Cormorant Garamond, Hanken Grotesk and Big Shoulders Display are under the SIL Open Font License. Flags come from the flag-icons package and icons from Phosphor, both under the MIT license.
